Hi James, Here at Greenies™, we've spoken to our technical experts about Daisy's problem. It could be related to one or two things. As Daisy is on a low allergy diet, she obviously has a sensitive constitution, and the wind may just be a reaction to the change in diet with the introduction of Greenies™, and may settle down over time. Alternatively, the high protein of levels in the chew, may be triggering this type of reaction. Again, this may settle over time as Daisy gets used to the chews. The really important thing is that Daisy's breath, teeth and gums are benefiting from being fed Greenies™. It's a little known fact that over 80% of dogs over 3 have gum disease, caused by plaque and tartar accumulating on the teeth and around the gum line. Left untreated, gum disease can lead to a dog losing its teeth, and think about all the fun things Daisy does with her mouth like catching, fetching, and of course eating. The improvement in Daisy's breath is down to two things, firstly we add chlorophyll to the product which has natural odour absorbing properties, similar to us using parsley after a meal. Secondly, because of the special texture of Greenies, the teeth have to repeatedly penetrate the chew, which helps reduce the build-up of harmful plaque and tartar, both of which contribute to bad breath. So it sounds like the Greenies™ are starting to do their job, and Daisy's healthier teeth and gums will allow her to keep doing all those fun things she enjoys.
